Apophis

Jupiter is so big that it’s gravity pulls in comets from deep space and has been protecting the earth from them.[1] Thus far.

Thomas Horn reported having a vision where God showed him a comet heading towards the earth[2]. This comet split upon entering the atmosphere and two pieces struck, causing many massive hurricanes, many volcanoes to erupt, days of darkness and other devastating damages. He said that one will hit the Pacific Ocean at the area of the Mexico/California border. He then heard God say one word: Apophis. He knew that this was the name of an ancient Egyptian god of chaos. What he learned later was that there was a comet with that name, that scientists from NASA predicted in 2004, would hit the earth on 4/13/29. Later, he found that NASA changed the prediction, giving it a lower chance of actually hitting the earth; however he was told that this was a coverup.

Did Mr. Horn see a vision and hear God? Did a coverup occur? Is this the wormwood prophecy in the Bible (Revelation 8:10-11) as Mr. Horn claims?

Does it really matter? Not to us, Thomas Horn contends, as he believes that the Rapture will occur before that time.

What is the truth?

The truth is that God has a plan – a really good plan. He loves us dearly and wants as many as want to come, to go to heaven. Of course, it’s a package deal – heaven and Him.

The Bible does predict disasters during the Tribulation; God’s goal being that people would repent, choose Him and go to heaven. Only God knows what will happen and when it will happen. But there’s an even more important truth. God love us more than we can imagine. If you draw close to Him, He promises in Psalm 91 (and many other places) that He will take care of you. It’s good news. And more good news is that He has made a way for wayward men and women to go to heaven – He paid the price of our redemption.

Like Jupiter pulling in comets entering our solar system and protecting the earth, God promises to protect His own. That’s the truth He gives us when trouble comes our way. When threats of harm or trouble overwhelm us, isn’t it comforting to know that God loves us, is there to help us and to calm us in any and every situation?
